What is Web Express Guide?

The first edition of the printed Web Express Guide® was launched by our founder, Edwin Gladstone, in May 2000, on the Costa del Sol, Spain.

His objective was to create the first localised monthly publication dedicated to the Internet that portrayed its local community the way it wished to be represented world wide and, at the same time, become an indispensable printed tool for Internet users, in particular the non expert users that represent the masses.

The first edition of the printed Web Express Guide® on the Costa del Sol was immediately well received by the local community, despite the fierce competition within such a small market.

This novel concept has now developed into what we can only describe as a "PORTAZINE"©, which we created combining the words Portal and Magazine. Effectively, as far as we know, Web Express Guide® is the only true original printed Portal anywhere.

Web Express Guide® is aimed at a middle to high market reader and this is achieved through quality of production, quality advertisers and a FREE distribution that is controlled by selection the right distribution points.

Web Express Guide® is distributed monthly, FREE OF CHARGE, via locations that are known to be visited by consumers of the desired profile such as Golf Courses, High Class Hotels, Banks, Private Schools, Restaurants, Accountants, Lawyers, Tourist Offices, Select Clubs, Select Book Shops and so on.

Because Web Express Guide® is free, it depends on advertising for all its revenue, which means that advertisers must get results: THEY DO!

Since its first edition Web Express Guide® has been growing from strength to strength and it is currently considering expansion into other areas.

The combination of online and offline advertising is a most effective promotional tool, taking local advertisers to a worldwide audience.

The 1st of July 2003 marked the launch of the first edition of Web Express Guide in the U.K., in Sheffield. Again, the quality of production, graphics, information and editorial material were well received by the community, marking the start of another success story. However, what is more important, the concept was well understood and welcomed, this time, by a more demanding and "educated market".

Having now assimilated the necessary knowledge for this novel concept, the way forward is now open. We present a more powerful and more effective Portal, which will gradually build up to offer all the good stuff from the ingredients that we have built into it.
