The Web Express Guide Review:
Drinks We ordered a selection of drinks including Champagne. The bar has the usual selection of alcoholic drinks and soft drinks to cater for a varied audience.
Food There is a good range of fish dishes with 2 vegetarian dishes - a very limited range for unconventional diets. For the starters, we chose the fish cake with mushy peas, tiger prawns and the red onion and goat’s cheese tart. The starters range from £5.75 to £9.95 and were a big hit. Soon after the starters arrived, some very nice looking bread came out, and although we asked for butter on several occasions, it still never appeared!
The selection of main courses had a variety of fish and grill dishes. The prices range from £8.95 to £16.95 and came with a choice of vegetables or salad. We went for the Crispy Duck with Pancakes, Lamb Shank with Cous Cous and chick peas, Terranyaki Chicken with Noodles, Feta Cheese Salad with Falafel.
The duck was served shredded, and there was a decent amount of spring onion and cucumber. But I'd probably stay away from it on my next visit because it made some of us feel dicky.
The Lamb shank was cooked well and expressed good flavour. The Terranyaki Chicken with Noodles was slightly salty and the chicken was a bit on the dry side.
I loved the vegetables as they were one of the best items on the table. And the Feta Cheese Salad was as good as you can get.
We didn't have much room for Desserts (surprise surprise) but went for the Chocolate Brownies and the Sticky Toffee Pudding, both served with Vanilla ice cream. And we enjoyed every little morsel of it!
