As its name suggests, the Balti King specialises in the traditional Balti dish. Balti is an aromatically spiced Indian dish, cooked in a cast iron wok to enhance its exotic flavours. Each dish has its own distinctive taste, where the herbs and spices are added in individual amounts to achieve the authentic and unique flavour.

Having served up aromatic meals for over ten years, it is clear to see why the Balti King is considered royalty! The mouth-watering menu offers over 290 dishes to suit every palate and every appetite, and the selection of dishes is phenomenal. Vegetarians will not be disappointed with the variety that is on offer – they even have their very own menu! For those with a larger appetite – why not munch your way through their monster meals? Feeling a bit exotic? Why not try their Paneer balti (Kashmiri-style lamb with curd cheese, onions, ginger, garlic and coriander)? If you are unable to find your favourite meal in their menu (highly unlikely) all you need do is speak to one of the waiters and the Balti King chefs will be more than happy to indulge your every whim! Balti King’s head chef Jalal Din has been in the trade for over 30 years and is considered to be one of the best balti chefs in the industry.

Balti King has made quite a name for itself over the years. It received a high rank in “Top 50 Places to Visit in Sheffield” by The Independent newspaper and has been visited by many celebrities. Vinnie Jones - now a major Hollywood star, Samantha Janus, hot TV talent, Shane Ritchie from Eastenders, Prince Naseem Hamed - one of the most infamous Featherweight Champion boxers, David Blunkett – MP and Sean Bean - another English favourite on the Hollywood scene, have all been pictured there!

Tony Hussain, the Balti King himself, puts much of his success down to the hard work of his team. Tony offers a personal service, being on first name terms with most of his regular customers. He offers a welcoming and friendly service so that not only do you get a fantastic meal but you can rely upon the excellent service of the waiters to make your evening something special. Balti King is proud of their approach to team-work and in a similar vein sponsors many of the local rugby, hockey and football clubs, the photographs of which adorn the walls of the restaurant together with the numerous celebrities who have dined there. Tony’s support of local teams and organisations represents his sense of community spirit. This has earned him many regulars at the restaurant and it is easy to see how he retains their custom. His watchful eye over his team of waiters and his attention to detail ensures the continued comfort and happiness of all those he plays host to.

The restaurant has a large upstairs room which is ideal for any group booking, seating up to 60 people, and provides a wonderful setting for a private party.
