Happy New Year and Merry Xmas is the theme of this edition. We mean this literally because so much has happened this year that the holidays in between just do not give us enough time to produce and print two separate editions between Xmas and New Year, so we have decided to cover the period with the one theme and make two deliveries in December and January, after all it is Xmas and New Year.
Officially we shall be closed between the 20th December and 10th January, unofficially it seems that we have some organizing to do in order to improve our efficiency in line with the expansion that we have undergone this year and that we propose for the New Year.
In the course of this year, particularly the latter part of it, we have seen the closure of many businesses, including a few publications. Some have gone all together, others remain dormant while some pretend nothing has happened and come out with a new name and unimaginative image and then
call it edition Nº 103?
In reality what is happening is that as we have been predicting and saying, there are some major changes taking place on the Costa and you cannot any longer just play at business. The "cowboy era" has ended and the true professionals are replacing him.
Our resolution for the coming year is to continue to be of service to "our" community, which we try to serve, represent and defend as best as we can.
There is always room for improvement, and we shall continue to look for it while doing our part also in trying to improve the poor image that is painted of the Costa by the outside press.
Merry Xmas and a Happy 2005.
