OUTCASTING UK PENSIONERS IN SPAIN

Iain Duncan Smith, the Work and Pensions Secretary, has described the payments to expats in warmer countries as an “obscene waste of taxpayers’ money”.

These comments are simply disgraceful.

Pensioners, who have contributed for years to earn their pension, have every right to collect in full irrespective of where they live; after all they are saving the government a massive fortune by not claiming for home allowances, old age care and all other
allowances that UK resident pensioners receive.

Winter temperature in the Mediterranean can reach temperatures well below freezing and then houses are traditionally built to
fight the heat of summer so when it gets cold itÂ’s like living inside a fridge.

Perhaps Mr. Iain Duncan Smith should do his homework before making such idiotic statements. Why not start looking at the
435 million pounds (Daily Mail 1/2/15) handed in benefits to drunks and drug addicts that contribute nothing to society?
Perhaps the saving of his salary is worth consideration.
