The charity event sponsored by BUPA International was organised by Sonia Fendley of STM Nummos Life SL and aimed to raise awareness about cancerand fundraise for the Gibraltar Society for Cancer, also known as the Lady Williams Cancer Support Centre.
Minister for Equality and Social Services, Samantha Sacramento, was one of the many people who showed their support by eating some cake, sipping some coffee and donating to the charity.
Â“There have been over 100,000 registered coffee mornings like this one worldwide,Â” said organiser and host Sonia Fendley, adding, Â“The Lady Williams Cancer Support Centre is a Macmillan registered charity in Gibraltar, so we thought it would be great to participate in the event, raise awareness regarding cancer, have a chat and some fun whilst doing it.Â”
We would like to extend our gratitude to the Rock Hotel for donating the venue, the raffle prize Sunday lunch for 2 and for all their help. Anglo Hispano for kindly providing delicious Lavazza coffee, BUPA International for their generous donation and the
ihi Bupa Travel policy prize, Rad One for donating a full body scan valued at over 1000Â€ to be raffled and Bodyworks for their support and generous raffle prizes of breast and lymphatic scans. We also received to beautiful paintings by local artists to auction.
We would also like to thank everyone who baked the lovely cakes, braved the weather and joined us, and also those who have made donation to the charity.
