A Busy Summer?

A Busy Summer?

The difference between those who had a poor season and those who had a bumper season. And parking fines deter tourism on the Costa del Sol

We have certainly had lots of visitors this summer, yet many businesses have complained that their sales were nowhere near what they had hoped for, while others claim to have had a bumper season.

The difference being that those who did well offered a good quality service, quality products, quality ambiance (if needed) but not at extortionate prices. Those who seem to have suffered are the ones that could not justify their prices and those who catered for the lower market. It is the effect of the crisis, consumers who can afford to spend will not be fooled into paying more that the service is worth and at the lower end of the scale (the majority) were quite content to visit the supermarkets and eat sandwiches on the beach.

Meanwhile the local councils still fail to learn their lesson and keep putting desirable tourists and residents off by dishing out unreasonable parking fines and failing to provide adequate parking facilities. I suppose they will not be happy until they have discouraged all the desirable element and are left with the last of the “big spenders”.
