I was a Scottish housewife and mother, well-known as a proven psychic but I was accused of being a witch. As a medium, I would perform séances in which I’d summon spirits of the recently deceased by emitting “ectoplasm” from my mouth that would then take form.
When I started predicting activities during WWII, I was convicted under BritainÂ’s Witchcraft Act of 1735 and imprisoned for 9 months. The English government feared IÂ’d reveal highly classified information about the war, particularly D-Day. Even Winston Churchill visited me in prison at one point.
I was the last person in England to be jailed under this act. In my lifetime, I was also charged with fraud and larceny, and accused of being a spy. My family asserts that I was not a “witch”, and continues to seek a pardon to clear my name. ”WHO AM I?”
