I was born October 2, 1869 in India and at the age of thirteen my parents chose my bride.
I went to London, England, to study law and became a lawyer in 1891, before returning to India to set up my own practice as a lawyer. I then received an offer to practice law in South Africa and lived there from 1893 to 1914.
I was against racism and I developed the principle that “an eye for an eye” makes the whole world blind. I always stuck by my principles of non violence.
Eventually I returned to India with the object of making India independent, but always adhering to my policy of non aggressive violence. I became known worldwide and used fasting as a way of protesting.
Unfortunately, I was assassinated in January 1948. There is gratitude for you! WHO AM I?
