This has not, however, led to a reduction in the quality of the courses, in fact, drafts of the curriculum show that more academic subjects, more sporting activities and even more free after school subjects have been added to the curriculum. With no intention of increasing class sizes, Mayfair pupils will continue to benefit from the low pupil/teacher ratio and quality teaching in all subject classes.
Mayfair Primary School offers a well balanced, varied curriculum and prides itself on quality education and high teaching standards, with subjects such as Languages, Music and Physical Education all being taught by specially qualified teachers.
Spanish is taught daily in the Primary and other languages such as French, Russian and Japanese are offered as extra curricular lessons. Music lessons include singing, recorder, guitar, piano and keyboard and, at Mayfair, the firm belief is that musical education is not only a foundation for further musical growth but it has benefits far beyond music such as attentiveness, intellectual curiosity, problem-solving ability and self discipline.
