The points relate to quality and price according to the standard of the restaurant. We try to visit only restaurants which we believe are worth reporting on. Introduction
Indian food is one of the classic favourites, however not every Indian restaurant is as good as it should be. The main ingredients of a good Indian restaurant are cleanliness and good true Indian food that tastes as it does back in India. There is only one such restaurant left in Sabinillas, therefore our tasting team decided we should visit them and tell our readers of our experience, Hoping it will encourage more people to visit and support a good restaurant that needs to get over the economic crisis.

The Staff
They are from India, the owner, the waiters and the cooks. They all seemed to understand English rather than Spanish and the service was good and attentive. The cooks seemed very keen to see the reaction on peoplesÂ’ faces every time the food was served. It makes them happy if you give them a thumbs up!

Atmosphere
No frills, plain décor and some soft background music to blend with the type of food. The tables are properly set for dining, as one might expect to find in any respectable restaurant. I liked the fact that it was well lit with nothing to hide. We could see the cooks working in the kitchen, that the restaurant is clean and looked after and what’s more we could clearly see the food we were eating. These are points that helped us to create our own atmosphere round the table.

The Menu
The menu is exactly what you would expect to find in a proper Indian restaurant. The basic ingredients chicken, lamb, fish and vegetables available in the different types of cooking which Indian food lovers are well acquainted with and which make up the variety catering for those who like it really hot and those who do not.
Starters, nan breads, chapattis and different types of rice all complete a very comprehensive menu to include fish fingers and chicken nuggets for the little ones.

Wine List
The wine is more than adequate with a good basic selection of Spanish wines backed by the usual bar drinks also displayed at the bar.
Papadoms and a choice of 4 dipping sauces are placed on the table to keep you interested while you sip your drinks and wait for the food to be prepared because everything is cooked to order.

Starters

Meat Samosa
Consisting of light pastry filled with meat and spices, served on a platter in two conical shapes. FBA- Perhaps it did not look like much but it certainly tasted as good as we were hoping. The meat and the various spices used we extremely pleasant and blended very well with some of that rosé wine we had ordered. The spices were not hot and very pleasant.

Assorted Starters
Some of us preferred to try an assortment comprising onion bhaji, chicken pakora, chicken tikka and lamb tikka with vegetable pakora. FBA – This gives an idea of some the different ways in which Indian food may be cooked. Pakora as in deep fried and tikka as in oven cooked. Again we enjoyed these starters and, though pleasantly spicy, they were deliberately not hot, giving you an opportunity to use the hot dip that was placed on the table if you so wished.

Main Courses

Lamb Saagwala
Flat spaghetti pasta with vongole, basically a condiment prepared with olive oil, garlic and clams and the rest. FBA – A very Neapolitan dish and a very delicious dish. The pasta was cooked just right and the condiment was just like mama used to make. Please do not ask for parmesan cheese on this dish, it is just not done! When Imy plate was empty, I wondered where it had all gone so quickly!

Lamb Pasanda
This is another mild dish with the difference that it is cooked in fresh tomatoes with almonds. Again this was a new but delicious experience. The aroma of the spices blending with the fresh tomatoes sauce based with almonds was heavenly. The meat was cooked to perfection. Another definite thumbs up!

Chicken Vindaloo.
Now we are entering the realms of hot dishes. You have to tell the waiter if you like it hot, medium hot or very hot. Be warned very hot means exactly that. The choice made on this occasion was medium hot. FBA – all dishes are served in the same way, in a steel bowl so you can help yourself. The aroma was very, very appealing and it certainly stimulated the appetite. A pleasant experience for those who like it hot.

Rice – Of course all these dishes need to be accompanied with rice and there is a good variety of different rice dishes from plain to special fried rice. Nan bread of course is also available in a variety of tastes.

Summary
In conclusion, if you are looking for a good Indian restaurant or take away this reasonably priced restaurant is definitely the right choice. It is neat, clean, easy to find with a fair amount of parking space availability. It is not a large restaurant so if you are intending to eat at the restaurant, as opposed to a take away, it is best to book a table.
