Boobs are back! Says Kerry Took this month.

Celebrity breasts quotes:

They have a career of their own and I’m just tagging  along’ – Pamela Anderson

‘There’s something very awkward about women and their breasts because men look at them so much. Men love them, and I love that.’ - Drew Barrymore

‘It’s hard to be naked and not be upstaged by your nipples’. – Susan Sarandon

‘My breasts are so versatile now - I can wear them down, up or side by side’. – Cybill Shepherd

‘I just accepted them as a great accessory to every outfit’. – Jennifer Love Hewitt

With the killer cleavage of the rich and famous like J-Lo, Pamela Anderson, Halle Berry, Rachel Hunter and Jordan literally leading the way – boobs are back, whether real or fake. Although it has been said that British women have the biggest boobs in Europe (closely followed by the Dutch) we are not nearly as perky and toned as we would like to be.

The pull of gravity, breastfeeding and badly fitting bras can take its toll and everything can start heading south if we’re not careful. Even if we have a regular routine for looking after our faces usually not much attention is given below the neck. The result? Dry, crocodile and sun damaged skin which is among the first areas to show the effects of ageing.

As breasts don’t contain any muscles they are held in place by a layer of skin which gives them their shape and firmness. Without the benefit of the oil glands that protect the skin on your face, the décolleté area from your neck to your boobs is vulnerable and needs attention. So how can we keep abreast of the situation?

  • Adopt good posture – sit and stand straight at all times
  • Exfoliate weekly with a gentle scrub using light, circular movements
  • When using a face wash or mask lather over your neck and décolleté
  • Moisturise well but don’t use creams that are too thick as they can block the pores and cause spots
  • Apply a high spf sunscreen to your chest and neck
  • Wear a good fitting bra – fitted professionally if possible
  • When exercising wear a proper sports bra to prevent stretching and droopiness

There’ s a variety of bust creams and gels on the market which will cost more than a general body lotion but don’t think they will work miracles! Bust gels may give smaller breasts a temporary lift but if you have bigger bosoms you probably won’t notice a lot of difference- just hydrate the skin to make it look firmer and fuller using any good non greasy moisturiser.

Products to try:
Elemis Pro Collagen Lifting Treatment Neck & Bust
Phytomer Toning Bust Gel
Clarins Bust Beauty Gel

If you are prone to spots on your décolleté dab on a bit of tea tree oil to reduce inflammation and reddening. Then, apply a small amount of concealer, carefully matching your skin tone.
Whatever shape you are you can create that perfect optical illusion by using shimmer powders and highlighters applied when you are wearing your killer outfit – just don’t over do it.
