Decisions, Decisions!

What shall I wear? What makeup can I use in these hot summer days? By Marbella Beauty Academy

All these decisions to be made and a busy day ahead. Well here are a few tips and tricks to help you along and make life just that little bit easier.

Firstly when applying your makeup try facing the cool air of your air conditioner or fan. This will keep your skin cool to the touch and give you the benefit. This way, there is no sweat or redness to battle with even before stepping outside to face the heat.

If you are going to blow dry your hair then the trick is to do this the night before and then re-style in the morning. Using a cool setting on the blow dryer will help if you feel that you have to blow dry in the morning. Cooler air will help set your hairs cuticle and also feel a bit like a personal fan.

Another good trick is to store your cosmetic products in the fridge for a while before using them. Cool down your base, liquid foundation and moisturizer before applying. This will not only feel good but will help to reduce any inflammation. One word of warning though, do check the formula: Refrigerating certain cosmetics can turn the consistency a little wonky although some other products may have a longer shelf life because of the chill.

If you are going to the beach or for an outside adventure embracing the summer air, then it can be a good idea to skip a base makeup entirely and just stick to concealer. You can cover up any blemishes, spots and shadows with concealer that way you will not have any worry about blotting away any makeup along with shine. Also a slightly tacky stick concealer tends to stay put longer than a liquid one.

Now how about that outfit? Now that you have freshened your makeup, here are a few useful tips on how to easily detox and freshen your wardrobe as well. Summer is here and it is time to rid ourselves of some of those old faithful outfits. If you have not worn it for two years then seriously consider throwing it out. Also any ‘posh frocks’ evening wear and wedding attire should be stored in a separate wardrobe or closet away from everyday clothes.

If any item is too small, then the best thing to do is get rid of it, it will only remind you of the extra weight you have gained, also if you have managed to loose weight then new outfits will certainly make you feel good. Never keep mistakes! If you have never worn it for any reason then perhaps it is time to sell on to a friend or donate it to a charity shop.

It is sometimes possible to change the outfit by dyeing or redesigning it in some way of course but if you still have not worn it after a month then out it goes. Remember also that as we get older then our decisions with regard to fashion must take into consideration our age.

A few things to remember.
When buying clothes and makeup it is important to shop for the whole rather than the individual. Think ‘outfits’ not just individual items. If you are shopping for something to go with something else you already have it is a good idea to take the other item with you when shopping for that last thing to make the outfit complete.

Always check your look in a full length mirror and if you have not got one then get one as soon a possible. It can be a girl’s best friend.
