I must say, I am rather pleased with the new Portal. In just a few weeks, it has received a number of excellent reviews. We are still updating information; if you haven't checked it out, please do so, remember your comments are always appreciated.
I am also rather pleased with the printed Portal/Magazine, we have had quite a number of readers contacting us for different reasons, which is excellent. We want you to seek us for information, give us information that may help others or make suggestions that may be useful.
On another note, I am told that things are really bad out there on the commercial front. Personally I think that changes are taking place, changes for the better. Although all the reasons are too long to put across in a few words, I believe that mainly the reasons for living on the Costa, other than retirement, are changing.
While it may be true that many companies seem to be going out of business, it is also true that they are being replaced by others; the difference is that the others are more professional at what they do. This change has been gradually taking place for a while. Could this be the final end of the "cowboy era"? I certainly hope so; there are plenty of bars to keep them occupied.
Remember, you only pay for what you get, "when something seems too good to be true" it probably is, that is why we wish to maintain our stance and will not offer advertising at silly prices as some are doing, it would mean reducing our standards and the standard of the service we provide.
Nothing really happens on the Costa at Halloween. They are not local fiestas and are only celebrated individually, although I do suspect that the "Locals" are doing their best to add another fiesta to their repertoire, especially when it has the chance of dragging the summer into the autumn.
