NOTICE BOARD Costa del Sol

A quick round up of recommended restaurants on the Costa del Sol and introducing a new, modern medical laboratory

If you live anywhere from Gibralltar to Estepona, you could be particularly interested to take note of the specialist clinic of Dr. Hidalgo. Dr Hidalgo’s clinic is a modern laboratory well equipped with the latest machinery and instruments to carry our all types of medical tests that may be required. This would include all types of analysis, Radiology, Ecography, Scans, Respiratory tests and other tests. For further enquiries you may call +34 956 767 552

SAPPORO JAPANESE RESTAURANT. You have Japanese restaurants in Marbella, in Nueva Andalucia, in San Roque so we should really be pleased to welcome Sapporo right here in our area. Apart from the healthy aspect of Japanese food, you will find that Sapporo are very conscious of the fact that we live in difficult recessionary times and they reflect this in all their prices, leaving behind the concept that Japanese restaurants are expensive. They have even introduced open buffets for diners who might want to discover this very different cuisine at €15 midday or €18.50 evenings (not Friday or Saturday nights) and if you actually happen to like it, you may help yourself as much as you like. See advert.

If you fancy a Chinese meal, The Slow Boat to China at the Puerto de la Duquesa can be recommended without hesitation. They have been there many years and they do their utmost to please their patrons.

If your taste buds move you on to Italy, there are two good restaurants that can me recommended. Pavarotti, at the Paseo Maritimo in Sabinillas and Parapiro, at the Puerto de la Duquesa. Excellent food and good value.

As far as good English restaurants go, you mustdefinitely go to Cocomo. It is really, really good nd certainly very price onscious. Many make it heir regular restaurant at east once a week, if not ore often. (Definitely book a table first).

Moving on to Spanish cuisine, we certainly have allen in love with El Molino in Sabinillas. It’s like walking into a wine cellar. Here you will get a good selection of tapas or larger portions all prepared in traditional Andalucian style however some of the dishes are out of the everyday “ordinary”. I liked the fact that one can choose the more private tables enclosed in alcoves. Considering the cozy setting and the food the prices are quite reasonable.

Peggotty’s on the other hand provide what we believe is the best traditional Fish & Chips on the Costa del Sol. They claim their method of preparing the fish and the chips is unique to the Costa and their portions are so large you may want to order a small one before you start.
