I was born in Poland but I spent my creative life in Paris as my father was French where I had a creatively important social life with a number of lady friends. My longest lasting relationship was with a female novelist who dressed as a man. I was not particularly healthy and developed tuberculosis, which I endured for several years before my death at the age of 39. Soon after starting my 10 years relationship with my female friend novelist I was advised by my doctor to enjoy a warmer drier climate to get some relief from my tuberculosis. We visited Majorca on holiday for this reason, but the weather was apparently very wet and my condition worsened.
I was a skilled pianist and a large proportion of my works are for solo piano. Many of my works are short in duration; Preludes, Etudes, Waltzes, Scherzos, Impromptus, were my favourites as well as several Piano Sonatas. My greatest influence in term of composition was Bach. WHO AM I?
